Wheelchair Accessible Taps

Not Just Taps Launches New Accessibility Tap Range

The New Range Makes Handwashing Safer and Easier for those with Limited Mobility

Not Just Taps have launched their new and exclusive Accessibility range. Designed by Hart Medical, the Accessibility tap packs make bathrooms truly accessible for everyone, no matter what disability they may have.

The Accessibility tap packs contain easy-turn handles which can be sited up to 800mm from the long reach spout, meaning that the user does not have to reach far forward to turn on the tap and wash their hands. The tap handles can be situated on the top or side of the basin which allows for flexibility to suit one’s individual needs. These tap packs facilitate easy handwashing for people with limited mobility, therefore, the product range is ideal for wheelchair users, the elderly and the disabled.

The Accessibility range also increases users’ safety. The TMV safety valve ensures that the tap is temperature safe, preventing the user from scalding themselves. Each year, approximately 20 people die because of scalds caused by hot bath water and 570 suffer serious scald injuries. The elderly are particularly at risk as their skin is less tolerant to high water temperatures. The Accessibility taps, however, eradicate the risk of a scald hazard as the thermostatic mixing valve blends hot and cold water to maintain a pre-selected temperature.

As well as being useful to care homes, hospitals and injury rehabilitation centres, these taps are also of benefit to public access buildings. According to the DDA (Disability Discrimination Act), public washrooms must accommodate all types of users. Therefore, if you own or manage a public access building, you are legally required to provide sufficient disabled toilet facilities. The Accessibility taps are compliant with these government standards and ensure that disabled bathrooms are easy to use for all.

Easy to operate and safe to use, these taps make a big difference to people with a physical restriction.

This new range of products can be found exclusively on Not Just Taps and on their sister website Lime Kitchen and Bathroom.
